About North Molton Methodist Church

From babies to elderly folk along with all ages in between, attend a wide range of activities at North Molton Methodist Church. We have a reputation for being friendly and welcoming, but ultimately we are ordinary people with faults and failings just like everyone else. We try to follow the extraordinary teachings of Jesus Christ who loves us all.

The Methodist Church began because of a travelling preacher, John Wesley. He attracted crowds, mostly outdoors, when he spoke about how following Jesus changes lives. John’s brother Charles, wrote hymns that became hugely popular with the man in the street, some of which we still sing today, along with modern contemporary songs.

Early Methodists met in homes in North Molton, but outgrew these premises. The current church building has been added to with a hall, meeting rooms and a well-equipped kitchen, which are widely used by our village community.

As well as valuing our historic roots, we aim to live out and share the Christian faith in culturally relevant ways, alongside other churches, especially All Saints in North Molton.
